What's next...

Here are a few of my samples which were submitted for my final collection before Christmas the texture and tension of the pieces are great for interiors and accessories so I've finally decided to start handbag designing!

My collection has evolved greatly since the start of the year; I want to continue using the influences from Guell Parc mirroring colours which inspired me originally. I want to move my designs forward by experimenting with linens and a selection of ropes; to create my handbags, the direction of my final collection has stirred at looking at beachy elements.

Alpaca Competition

Here is a sneaky peek at some of the samples I'm submitting for the Alpaca Knitwear competition...

It was really great to experiment for a couple of days with different colours and ideas, usually I'm more accustomed to working with bright and chunky yarns so this was a great chance to use some of the finer gauge machines in the studio and work with colours I don't usually experiment with.

Haberdashery heaven

The Parisian side streets were so beautiful, bringing back slight memories of my trip to Barcelona in the summer, the buildings have the same quirky and desperately beautiful ironwork, tiles and added detail which brings the streets alive.

Here are some sneaky peeks into some of the gorgeous textiles available...

The most amazing wall of buttons I've ever seen!! They were so unique and unlike anything else the designs and colours were inspirational...

This wall kept me occupied for ages!!! The ribbons, cords, ropes and trimming were extremely beautiful, my rope designs for my final collection finally have some unique pieces to trim and accessorize.

Paris

The trip we've all been waiting for since the start of our time at Derby...

Paris and it was everything that I imagined...Premier Vision was such an inspiration and I have come back with plenty of groovey knitting ideas and techniques to work on.

Unfortunately cameras were not aloud in the trade show but I made up for it outside on the streets of Paris. Here's just a few...
