Jute bags

This design has been produced using a combination of cotton, jute and rope…

The handles were an important part of the design giving the bag structure and shape.

A design been worked on currently is a circular basket bag, the fabric in keeping with my visual research and the use of jute and rope, allows me to take full advantage of the structure and strength which it gives.

The loops, on image to the right secures the rope at the edge of the piece which will pull to become the bag fastening…

My Plush

The start of my plush beach towels created on the Shima....

This design is a combination of a white and blue chenille combined with a linen and cotton blend yarn running between each course.

This is the knit structure combination...

Starting at the first yellow stitch line the knit starts knitting holding the two side sections and looping on the center piece,

It then alternates onto the opposite needles on the next course.

The piece then transfers the needles to the front bed,

And then drops the loops off the bed creating the looped toweling affect.

This is then repeated...

Zig-zag affect

I decided to create some colourful zig-zag's to give the collection an impact, having always loved zig-zag's and mixtures of colours it was a fun series to produce...

These pieces will be used alongside the other Ipad Pocket samples to create the designs produced.

Plush

Beach plush towels...

Inspired by mosaic tiles, this is a prototype for a series of beach towels produced on the Shima.

The colours will be slightly changed on the final pieces to hand dyed chenille yarns.
