Paris

The trip we've all been waiting for since the start of our time at Derby...

Paris and it was everything that I imagined...Premier Vision was such an inspiration and I have come back with plenty of groovey knitting ideas and techniques to work on.

Unfortunately cameras were not aloud in the trade show but I made up for it outside on the streets of Paris. Here's just a few...

Half way there...

So I'm half way through my third year of uni...scary to even think about!!!

Here is a half way board of ideas for my final show...

At this point I'm really pleased with the outcome of my interior samples, putting our collections together has really helped me to vision my final collection for my degree show, giving me lots of new ideas :) I really want to expand the range of textures and patterns using ropes and cord and start to experiment with embroidery.

Some of my collection mounted over the Christmas break...

Some of the samples close up...

Some ideas for my final pieces...

Summer Inspiration

Barcelona... and what a week away it was, I fell in love with everything about the place. The artwork was spectacular, Gaudi is the world's most amazing artist the way he puts colour together is what I love about his work so much; I cant wait to get back to university to start a project inspired the artwork I saw.

My final project in year 2...

 A combination of knitwear and hand woven fabrics inspired by Missoni...I was really pleased with the outcome of the fabrics and loved the Zigzag colour combinations which is what i focused on throughout this project.

Knitwear for Interiors; Bradford Competition

These are the boards I created for the Bradford Competition;

This collection was initially influenced by Lucienne Day; I started by looking at her previous work and her classic collection of prints. After collecting examples of her work and sketching my own ideas down I was really excited to start working with the knitting machines.
